Biography - Jon Boyes
Jon took up the guitar in his early teens and has been a keen player for twenty five years. Just a few years after taking up the instrument he was giving solo performances in public and since then he has played a variety of music, both solo and in bands, to audiences across the UK.
After many years of playing rock and pop, Jon began studying the classical guitar under the tutelage of Malcolm McKiver and Steve Gordon. Always drawn to the Spanish repertoire, Jon soon discovered a passion for flamenco and began accompanying flamenco dance classes, eventually giving performances with professional dancer Mercedes Romero as part of the ensemble Flamenco Vivo.
Now with a repertoire that covers Classical, South American and Flamenco music, Jon is a true devotee of the Spanish guitar in all its incarnations. Yet despite drawing on a wide range of influences, Jon still manages to come up with a trademark sound of his own.

Biography - Mark Barnwell
Mark's affinity with the guitar began at the tender age of 6. His early classical training resulted in a number of junior solo and group performances. By the age of 15, Mark was playing live with his first rock band and throughout the 80's and 90's, his experiences as lead guitarist expanded considerably with regular live performances in different styles (blues, country, funk, rock and disco).
At the turn of the millennium, Mark discovered a passion for flamenco, Spanish and Latin guitar and met Jon Salfield, south west Flamenco virtuoso, who became his teacher and mentor.
Combining his love of music and travel, Mark has played both solo and with other artists at numerous venues throughout the UK and across the globe. His playing has its roots in romantic, classical guitar and traditional flamenco music, often spiced with arabic and latin sounds, providing a unique and original style of playing signifying his love of world music. |
